AFCON 2027Q: Ilenikhena ready to make Super Eagles debut against Madagascar
George Ilenikhena is excited about the opportunity to be part of the Super Eagles and is looking forward to making his maiden appearance for the three-time African champions.
Ilenikhena received his first invitation from head coach Éric Chelle for Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
The Al-Ittihad striker stated that it is an honour to be part of the national team at this stage of his career.
“It is an honour to be here. I am proud and happy to be part of this big national team, and for me, it’s a big deal,” he said at a media parley in Uyo
I am just 20 years old, and I am here with big and already accomplished players.
“The team spirit is very good. I just arrived yesterday (Tuesday), and I can see that everyone is together like a big family, and that’s very good.”
